I Would Like to See You More Often
You told me that you have become a hermit. You said that you would like to see me more often, yet. You would like to see me more often but now you are a hermit and what can a hermit do? I’ve had nothing but time to think about that and have arrived at an answer. Not much. I too would like to see you more often and so I’ve been dragging my knees to tell you that, unfortunately, I have also become a hermit and I keep to myself. There are people who can verify this because I’m forced to do a lot of my hermitting publicly.
I am not sure whether or not you like to hoard things these days, but I do. I am also a hoarder. I find things and then I keep them near to me. This is very different than before when we were both fritterers. For example, lately I have been setting traps for my time and then gathering it up. You’d be surprised how easy it is to dupe time. Apparently it isn’t clever. It is, however, a tough thing to keep organized. It has not helped my decorating, but then we hoarders must do what we hoarders must do. I have managed to get the whole of this autumn stashed about in my bedroom. At nighttime there are noises but now I think that they are almost pleasant.
See how this is nothing like when we were fritterers? Back then we would instead trap people and then give them all of our time. We used to laugh because they could be ensnared so easily. People are much like time in that they are not clever. It was all very funny and then not so very funny. We are better off to be hermitting these days. Yet remember how the nice thing then, when we were both fritterers, was that we saw each other often?
