honestly laid out   pictures whose
resolve   brighten as they
inch forward   chronologically

shaper things   seeming less
               connected

how honest to tell   unspeaking
               stripped of articles
how to forgive   a statement

tossed off   that is not history
in a strict sense   just
catching sparks   trailing their

lines   of light through the
air maybe   this is
historical   momentary fire

or notes pinned into bare
          skin unreadable   but felt
