For White People Who Struggle so Hard

Don’t tell me
How hard
It is
To struggle
Under
The shiny shackles
Of the privilege
You must
Travel to
Exotic places
That are far away
So
You don’t have to
See the
Horrors at home.
Tell me again
How
It hurts
To hear
That you cannot
Consume
My experiences
And regurgitate
Them to your friends
Under cool breezes
With tears in your eyes
And how empowered
You felt
When
Shaking and sick
You dared say
Racism.....
Is
Bad.
And how you wept
Because you were so brave
And so good
And did the work.
Don’t tell me
I ain’t hungry
For empty
Calories.
