Miriam Bird Greenberg

Miriam Bird Greenberg Miriam Bird Greenberg grew up on a farm in rural Texas, the kid of a dislocated New York Jew and a goat-raising anthropologist involved in the back-to-the-land movement, and spent her childhood roaming the nearby creeks and caved-in barns. She has been awarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Foundation, and the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center. She lives in Berkeley  where she teaches ESL; in the past she's ridden freight trains across the US and hitchhiked on four continents. Her chapbook, All night in the new country, will be out with Sixteen Rivers press in 2013.
