I’ve lost my tiny stapler.
In my secret basement lab
I have tiny files. I have
tiny children. In my secret
basement lab, everything shrinks.
I have a tiny dog. Her name
is Bear Killer. She fits
in my shirt pocket with
Alfred and Ginny, my children.
I keep them where
I can find them. That’s
important. Because without
my tiny stapler I can’t keep
my tiny files organized.
I can’t keep track of all
my tiny creatures. They’ll
mingle like pollen, like dust
dancing and grazing in the air.
My tiny sheep do most
of the grazing. Down here,
I’m afraid even to breathe.
