We Came From A Place

Sincerity understands the life cycle of speech,
the strange wiggles of discussion,
refuses to alienate
or recoil, react. Denying conflict,
a good citizen, its method is to ignore tension
and create missives an anthropologist
might one day unearth and see translated
with no need for defense, without spill-over
of source-language, no peril of jarring idiom.

"Yes. I can help."

"I write this to tell you
how we came from a place
where sincerity used to happen."
