O Town Heights (excerpt)
I have a landlord
This perfect misanthropist Mr. H
slovenly perhaps
he is negligent and rather morose
Mr. H is the pillar
Wincing he did unchain me between the flags
anatomy laden
Mr. H is an excessive architect
very roof
legs of beef
villainous old guns
he saw my knees
I can be matronly on request
Mr. H removes the chain
the dogs keep thickly
I never bid so openly
I’d better show him how
toward the left
approach the table and chairs
This is our house—This is our pillar
the only cottage in the depot
naturally the light is downstairs
This is ours
