Weighing In.

The Sun smacks me in the face
and I hate it for it’s
wonderful glow

I roll over in bed
I have no reason
to open my eyes

My bones are crushed
from the weight
of living,
my body bruised
from the fight
Old Man Madness
the night before

And today
won’t be any different
than the last

The women
aren’t interested
in a wounded
revolver drawn
at the world.

I fell in love
I ascended
I saved the world
I saved the girl
I saved myself
I cured war
I showed the true meaning
of compassion
I fought for
all of my ideals

I woke up
got out of bed
and took
the longest
piss of my life.
