To compress a body summersault dwarfed
air sealed within torso heating and forward
motion conserved relish spark the letter sent to
her closest friend streamlined ideas piecemealed
cut light shards then dark insert in blue box
motion she wrote while moving forward heat
sustainable she wrote the letter flying down
the blue chute water in the throat to write
what one is thinking nearly the mat braced her
body and she rolled to blue the one friend
and light saving post the script how much
postage might be costing her life or less
a motion than still blue is what we claim
the blue water we say when we conserve
parcel and parched down her throat drowning
sparks save light save you, safe.

Brava technique of extended alliteration!

I just want to say that this is a wonderful poem and that lots of readers of different types and attention spans (myself?) can enjoy this because it is well-crafted and economical but fluid (it goes without saying) and there is entertaining word-play and there are delicious cultural allusions, but neither the word-play nor the allusions jump out at you, they are just tucked in there just beneath the surface. Which is part of the point, as I take it.
