Do Not Pass Me
I have decided that the Easy Bake Oven
Feels under-appreciated.
The kids closets are clusters
Of ages-near decades of regret
How time leaves objects
Waiting in a piled limbo.
I am watering a near-living orchid
When I see Easy Sugar Cookie Mix
Tossed and forgotten
Behind the crackled wooden
Pink and white bench.
What’s so easy about this
I say to the unsealed box.
Husband! We are alone
In this house and there are sweet
Packages waiting. Let’s remember
How our teeth didn’t always hurt
Ignore the pesky sensitivities–instead
Think about us when–the way
We could go on for days.
