Maggie Smith’s second book, The Well Speaks of Its Own Poison, won the 2012 Dorset Prize, selected by Kimiko Hahn, and is forthcoming from Tupelo Press. She is also the author of Lamp of the Body (Red Hen Press), winner of the Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award, and three chapbooks: Disasterology (Dream Horse Press, forthcoming), Nesting Dolls (Pudding House), and The List of Dangers (Kent State University Press).
Her poems have appeared in The Paris Review, The Iowa Review, Court Green, Shenandoah, The Gettysburg Review, The Southern Review, and many other journals and anthologies.
