Michelle Regalado Deatrick, Winner of the 2012 Chautauqua Poetry Award, has published poetry and fiction in Best New American Voices, American Literary Review, subTerrain and elsewhere; her work was recently featured as Split This Rock's Poem of the Week.
Michelle holds an MFA from the University of Michigan, where she received two Hopwood Awards and the Colby Fellowship. She has also studied at Wesleyan, Harvard and Stanford. She has been a fellow at MacDowell, Ragdale, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her awards include Second Runner-Up in the 2012 Boulevard Emerging Poets' Contest and Honorable Mention in Copper Nickel's 2011 Fiction Contest. Michelle lives on an 80-acre farm and native prairie in Michigan and teaches poetry workshops for the University of Michigan's Lifelong Learning Institute.
