 SECTION 17-B, ANTLER BRIGHTNESS

For a tiny animal prone to overheating, the illuminated antler is a critical way to maintain body temperature. At room temperature, a healthy animal’s antlers will glow at anywhere from four to eight lumens (depending on mood). But in extreme heat… antlers can put out over two hundred and fifty lux. When that happens the small animal is called an eclipse.
