Dark eyes pin me
to this plane of being,
leveled up consciousness,
aware of all the space
you take. Dark eyes
draw my deep places up,
but I can’t and I won’t
and I want nevertheless.
Put on my hardest face
to drive me from you
further. The further away
I move, a different pain
follows on, beloved ache.
Pushing me back
to the place I encounter you,
any place I’d go for that:
to see you, in a moment, see me.
