PLANT THAT FLAG

(from pt. A to pt. A)

sometimes
in a schoolyard
tangled
in the yarn
of these
old faces
like fuel
it pours out
into space
the rocket
lifts off
is spun up
like light
a warp
in the weave
my mind
diagonals
onward
its dutiful
shuttling to
the future
frequently
I wave
whenever
the past
recesses
it leaves
a pinhole
for my teensy
star spangles
