IF IT TURNS OUT YOU FORGET TO SAY ANYTHING

It is the best thing that has ever happened. It is not
like a tiny gold monkey-wrench thrown
down a hallway. It is like seven horses suspended
over the ocean by stars as you look up
from your boat because sailing is about
possibilities. Whatever happens to what we say
after it’s said? I think now it belongs
to no one. I think what is important is going
to the beach and staying awhile. Everyone
is dying from loneliness. Everyone flees
from inside the forgotten zoo.

I think now it belongs to no one." -Wendy Xu- ...and I think it belongs to(o) shatters of delicate wrists when you said we would finally understand ocean water I thought we would eat grapefruits in the morning peel avocados rescue those birds from the oncoming winter but our bodies can't capture smoke or fire or driftwood anymore than her lips... ...
