girl revisited

if i could capture
every meandering twist
of your lips
when they smiled
i would fold them
neatly and
place them in a
plain white envelope

later

after the years
had gathered
all their poesies
i would open that
envelope
with deliberate care
unfold those lips

i would allow my fingertips
to glide along each perfect crease
discovering again
just how it was
when you still
loved me.
