we are better

words come with shaking knees swarms of bees in fair weather our hands tethered together wetter better at home or abroad overseas we believe in forever if ever there was a time out of place or a place out of time we could find the other muddled up immaculate and sleeping yet wide awake to the first pink earthquakes of fingers on skin digging in from one breath to another our octopus hearts dart in the ink dark as oceans stain our sleeves we sway we stay we leave common rooms together while other lovers bleed wail gnash teeth over the unfair nature of love we are the rocks they are smashed upon we are the breaking waves that drag them to wreck and ruin we are better than everyone else.
